His peaceful dealings with Louis Riel and various chiefs are detailed, particularly those with Chief Whitecap. Willoughby offers an assessment of the lives of aboriginals living near Saskatoon and notes numerous similarities between "the Red Men and the White Men."

Gerald Willoughby (1866-1933) was one of the first citizens of Saskatoon, NWT.
