Henry Dufresne (left) and Charles Trottier (right) who lived in Loon Lake in 1947. During the Rebellion Dufresne was an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company and surrendered to the Indians with 27 others at Fort Pitt. Trottier was a lieutenant of Gabriel Dumont at Duck Lake.

Historical note:

This photograph is part of a collection of images used by Reg Taylor of the Saskatoon Star Phoenix in an article he wrote which featured William Bleasdell Cameron, a survivor of the so-called Frog Lake Massacre, 2 April 1885. The article appeared in the Star Phoenix October 23, 1947.

Matilda Trottier (nee Black), 1873-1975

Description
A photograph of Matilda Trottier (nee Black) at her home in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, probably in the 1950s. She had a child named Mabel with George Mann Jr. in Onion Lake in 1898, and later married Charlie Trottier. She was employed at the Anglican residential school in Onion Lake in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Autobiography of Leslie Garrett, born 1898 into a religious family in England. He became a minister of the Church of England after emigrating to Canada in 1913. In 1923 he was assigned to Big Trout Lake, ON, and did missionary work among the Aboriginal population for 31 years. In 1953 he moved to Loon Lake, SK, as a senior missionary for the Northern Canada Evangelical Mission.
