Description
Sociology Thesis (M.A.)--University of Guelph, 2019.
Authors note that Canada’s new Healthy Eating Strategy does not address social determinants of health (childhood environments, gender, Indigenous status, income, education and occupation) as root causes of poor diet quality; they suggest that a reduction of diet inequities will require policy change.
Historical note:
Harold Nelson Woodsworth served as an Indian Agent at a number of agencies in Saskatchewan.Discusses existing social enterprises generally as well as Indigenous initiatives and organizations, identifies challenges, obstacles in promoting Aboriginal participation and common characteristics of best practices, makes recommendations for courses of action and solutions, and lists specific proposals for the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale.
