Project engaged Elders, First Nations patients, care-providers, and researchers to create a community-based, participatory research project which functions within the OCAP (ownership, control, access and possession) research principles. Researchers found that the collaborative approach allowed greater understanding of the complexity of diabetes, and a focus on strengths-based interventions.

This folder contains Dr. Stewart's correspondence with private citizens, a Saskatchewan Land Titles official, University of Saskatchewan President Walter Murray, and A.S. Morton relating to accumulating information about the Northwest Resistance. Also included is a list of members of the Saskatchewan Legislature from 1905-1924 and a list of members of the North West Territories Council from 1877-1905.

Historical note:

Dr. A.B. Stewart acted as coroner for the Royal North West Mounted Police and had a medical practice at Duck Lake, Saskatchewan in the late 1800s-early 1900s.

A book containing Indian Agent's ledgers from the Duck Lake agency for 1885-1889, and 1921-1929. The first half of this ledger is "Issues to Destitute Settlers" (Mrs. Gabriel Dumont and others connected to the 1885 Uprising are included); the second half is a calendar of outgoing correspondence.

This file contains correspondence and two photographs showing the Duck Lake, Saskatchewan home of Charlie Lovilette, police scout. On backs of photographs: "Duck Lake Sask. / Charlie Lovilettes house / Built in 1891 or 1892 / Police Scout." The letter is from the Glenbow-Alberta Institute returning the photographs to Harold Nelson Woodsworth, who was then stationed in Ottawa.
