An introduction to the this special issue on educational pedagogy.
Recommendations developed as a result of feedback gathered in six Talking Circles composed of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants.
Topics include climate change, demographics, Indigenous governance, housing, human rights, Indigenous languages, migration, famous people, original place names, residential schools, seasonal cycles, symbols, timeline, trade routes, and treaties, land disputes, agreements and rights.
Although activities were created for the giant floor map, they can be adapted to the printable tile version.
Looks at recommendations for engagement between post-secondary scholars and researchers with Indigenous communities.
Discusses the hindrances for Indigenous parents to influence the education of their children.
Examines the integration of Native Language and Culture (NLC) into an elementary school curriculum.
