Authors conducted analysis of 4300 advertisements promoting adoption of Indigenous children which were featured in the "Today's Child" column in The Toronto Telegram and The Toronto Star from 1964 to 1982, the period known as the Sixties Scoop. Descriptions of happiness were framed in ways which conformed with white society's notions of family and nation.
Reports results from first year of twenty-year study on the impact of program designed to provide physical, mental, emotional and cultural supports to children between the ages of 7-12. Research sites were Red Lake, Timmins, Sudbury, Midland, and Niagara, Ontario.

Disputes issues discussed in the 1997 national inquiry report, Bringing Them Home, such as specific cases, comparison of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal child removal and the claim of genocide.
Study cohort consisted of 160 survey respondents and 288 focus group participants. Topics included barriers to accessing and successfully completing treatment, suggestions for overcoming them, and promising practices.
Search was performed for academic and non-academic Indigenous sources published between 2000 and 2016 and identified over 150 documents, books, and papers.
