Discusses gendered nature of the resource decision-making processes and argues that EA process privileges resource extraction, re-inscribes gender hierarchies, and undermines Indigenous mixed economies.

Concerns over suicide in youth and the lack of access to outings on the land to learn traditional skills led to the pilot outreach program for youths 14 to 21.

Anthropology Thesis (M.A.)--McGill University, 1996.

Uses data from Statistics Canada's mortality database to compare statistics for the two time periods.

Study shows while rates for AGI were higher in the two communities, there were lower rates of AGI-related healthcare use.

Study comprised of an online survey and interviews with businesses, government officials, including Economic Development Officers, and organizations that provided financial support. Five main obstacles were identified: economic conditions, high cost of doing business, access to equity or capital, high cost of borrowing, and restrictive government policies.

Anthropology Thesis, (M.A.)--McGill University, 2001.

Findings showed the Innu/Inuit hospitalization rate for pneumonia was over 3 times higher than that of non-Aboriginal communities.

Reflects on the authors traditional Innu way of life while growing up in Labrador.

Comments on an entrepreneur who brought five Inuit people to London from Labrador in 1772.

Presents results from several seasons of research including data from community interviews, archaeological surveys and excavations at four Inuit settlements, one Inuit-Métis house, and one Newfoundland fishery camp.

"National publication for the Indians of Canada." Focus on Indigenous issues, events at residential schools and legal decisions. Previously published as Indian Missionary Record. Articles reflect the attitudes and policies of the time.

Looks at development of two complementary governance structures: self-rule and shared rule. The Inuit approach has involved negotiating land claims agreements and in some cases, establishing amalgamated regional governments to administer programs; the Sámi approach has involved establishment of Sámediggi national parliament.

Summarizes successes and gaps within the education systems of each Inuit region.
