Beatty offers a sympathetic view of the causes of the Resistance, based on his experiences with Aboriginals and Metis throughout Saskatchewan in his travels during 1884-1885.

Notes that in 1877 the buffalo were plentiful and after that they vanished from the plain. Entire issue on one .pdf, scroll to page 55.

A book published by the Prince Albert Herald in 1935 which is a compilation of first hand stories of 1885. These stories had previously appeared in the Herald newspaper between March 19 and April 26, 1935. The stories are mainly from the point of view of non-Aboriginal settlers, however, there are some Metis stories.
