Image of wounded soldiers leaving for Saskatoon likely from Fish Creek on 2 May 1885 during the Northwest Resistance. A trail of men on horseback and horse-drawn wagons are visible.

Talk by the photographer and activist accompanies slide show of his photographs taken at the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. In it, he talks about the history of the government's treatment of the Sioux and how it has led to the appalling circumstances present on the Reservation today. Duration: 15:27.

File contains 14 negatives of Aboriginal art displayed for Vincent Massey Students May 25, 1989. The art displayed includes a variety of traditional items such as snowshoes, mukluks, beadwork, and minature totem poles. In eight of the negatives an unidentified man is shown holding up a minature tipi. In the other negatives art is displayed on tables.

Presents archival material, essays and images centred around themes of totems, residential schools, mentors, community, migration and modernism.

A photograph of a group of Aboriginal men, women and children sitting inside a ceremonial lodge possibly near Onion Lake, Saskatchewan. Picture probably taken by George Mann Jr. family who homesteaded in the area. Mann Jr was a telegraph line man for the Government of Canada and would often visit Onion Lake when he checked the line.

A photograph showing numerous Aboriginal pipes from what seems to be a private collection. Evidently the donor was from the Medicine Hat, Alberta area as the back is stamped "Medicine Hat Photo Finishers." On the back of the photograph is inscribed "34 Stone pipes in a nice oak case. I have quite a number of the stems."

Folder contains three pages of text and portraits.

A photograph of various Aboriginal artifacts including a bow and quiver with arrows, a flintlock pistol, an axe head, and a pipe. On the back is inscribed "This bow is half wood and half sinew There is no other like it in Canada. The Two long painted arrows were used on Buffalo. The gun is a flint lock." Presumably from a private collection in Medicine Hat, Alberta. On the back is typed "The Pender Agencies . . . Medicine Hat Canada".

File contains 7 negatives showing the signing of an accord agreement (unspecified) between Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations Chief Roland Crowe and Indian Affairs Minister Pierre Cadieux on June 7, 1989.

Looks at Poolaw's technique of dramatically posing subjects which he gained through film-making experience and provides an overview of various photographs taken.

Focuses on the depiction of Indigenous cultural objects as a contemporary practice, specifically via still photography.

All Saints Boarding School in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Run by the Anglican Church All Saints was built in 1920-21 under Archdeacon McKay's supervision.

Thesis (Ph.D.)--The Johns Hopkins University, 2006.

Master's Thesis submitted in 1993 to the Institut Charles V of the University of Paris VII. Content includes: Inventing the Indian and Representing Him from the First Encounters to the Civil War, and Various Images of the Indian: 1860-1917.

Collection includes over 2,300 original photographs, annual reports of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs to the Secretary of the Interior from 1851 to 1908 and six Indian Treaties negotiated in 1855. Study questions suitable for use by K-12 teachers.
