Educational Foundations Thesis (M.Ed.)--University of Saskatchewan, 1996.

Study investigates academic expectations of students who attend a doctoral-granting public university, to aid in understanding of student needs.

Discusses four-year study of Sioux and Winnebago peoples to develop and evaluate a diabetes education program; they found education about diet and diabetes is not enough, when access to healthier diet is a continuing problem.

Describes the process involved in receiving funding from Diabetes Australia to support the education program. Conclusions reached state the Aboriginal health worker is the best equipped to inform Aboriginal clients about diabetes management.

Compilation of several personal narratives from Australian Aboriginal health workers reporting on their roles in health care.

Various Aboriginal health workers from the Northern Territory, Australia describe the roles that they play in the health care system.

Describes a training program consisting of eight sessions over a two and a half year period with a significant Aboriginal representation in the administrative side of the program.

Examines perceptions of young Aboriginal mothers attending an urban FAS prevention program, discusses the two distinct uses of the term "culturally appropriate" in FAS pedagogy, and concludes with an analysis of the participants insights and the policy texts.

Pilot project findings found that online learning is a cost effective tool that can overcome geographical challenges presented by vast northern distances.
