Outlines principles that are intended to promote research that is scientifically and culturally competent, is in keeping with Aboriginal values and traditions, and is mutually beneficial and empowering to both Canada’s Aboriginal and research communities.
Includes list of online content evaluation guidelines, examples of sites developed in collaboration with Indigenous peoples, and guidelines for consultation.
Provides description of program and evaluation, and reports findings under five issues: continued need for the program; alignment with government and First Nation priorities; alignment with Federal roles and responsibilities; achievement of expected outcomes; and demonstration of economy and efficiency.
Goal of program was to promote community capacity to prevent and respond to mental health emergencies. The assessment looks at the process of implementation, impacts for individuals and communities, and degree of cultural safety for the course during the period 2013-2017. Methods included surveys, interviews with participants and facilitators, ten site visits and course field observations.
