Study of 20 participants assesses the effectiveness of a telemedicine programme in managing the remote diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of concussion patients. At the study’s conclusion 90% of participants met criteria for clinical recovery and close to $41 000 of treatment cost had been avoided.

Ethnographic study of 15 youth, aged 6 -17; uses Indigenous decolonizing framework to examine data collected through interviews with the youth to examine their views on and primary concerns related to health and well-being. Findings indicate that Winneway youth have a multidimensional understanding of health and well-being and view themselves as having agency; their concerns include “poor eating choices, difficulty expressing emotional and mental concerns, how children and youth treat others, and youth participation in unhealthy behaviours.”

Study uses 13 sharing circles to engage 99 Indigenous youth aged 15-25 to share their stories and experiences about sports and physical activity. The discussions were analyzed using a two-eyed seeing approach and results indicated that sport and physical activity impacted Indigenous youth physically, cognitively, and emotionally.

Five major themes emerged: research as a part of community building; respect, safety and dignity; ethical research which meets basic needs; frustration and concern; and diversity of Indigenous youth voices. Youth also identified requirements for ethical and meaningful engagement, which included accessibility, youth involvement in developing and leading research, holistic approaches, ethics as identified by youth themselves, and research that is both community-led and culturally specific.

Objective of this study was to describe the epidemiology of invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) in relation to pneumococcal vaccine use. The 2002 immunization campaign may have contributed to controlling serotype 1 outbreaks in Nunavik, but effected were short-lived as IPDs caused by serotypes included in this vaccine continued to occur after 2005.
