John H. Brockelbank was minister in the Dept. of Natural Resources from 1948-56 in the Saskatchewan NDP government. This interview reviews his years in office in relation to the development of the north, development of marketing agencies and cooperatives as well as his impressions of Malcolm Norris.

At age 83, Mr. Gladue looks back on his life as a trapper ; tells of the large area of land covered by trappers, and gives an interesting account of the journey from Wabasca to Yellowknife to purchase a permit. Covers many modes of transportation.

Mr. Gladue, aged 86, describes the discovery of Trout Lake, Alberta; the abundance of buffalo in the area; his life as atrapper. He gives a detailed and graphic account of a winter journey from Wabasca to Yellowknife and back, including his attendance at a Chipewyan funeral and feast.
