Consists of an interview where Adam Solway talks about being orphaned at 8 years and adopted by the Blackfoot Reserve, Alta; his attendance at a residential school; becoming a councillor and then chief of the reserve. He comments on the issues he had to deal with as well as providing comments on contemporary lifestyles and leadership.

Results from two pilot studies show numerous pathways to exposure of toxic materials. More research is recommended.

Answers cover numerous areas: Legal status of Indians, Indian lands, the purpose of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, economic status, health, education, and law and order on reservations. Also includes lists of selected readings, publications, and museum locations.

Antoine Lonesinger discusses different methods of earning a living that included making charcoal and lime. Also included is the story of a boy saved a camp from starvation with the help of the raven spirit.

Results indicated that communities holding more "Western" values were less likely to object to maternal transport.

Looks at umiak (open boats) and kayak (decked hunting canoe) used by Inuit in Canada, Greenland, Alaska and Asia and compares them to the Irish curraghs. Digitized copy of typescript is part of the unpublished reference work on the Northern Arctic and subarctic regions. Project ran from 1947-1951.

Arsene Fontaine describes a curing by a medicine man and a brief description of how to make a canoe. She also gives a description of transportation by dog team.
