Using selected correspondence to explore the experiences of Indigenous students at Forest Grove Indian School in Oregon. The primary sources discussed are provided at the end of the article.
Uses the Madison Buffalo Jump State Park as a starting point to discuss the buffalo's importance in the economies, cosmologies, social organization, and spiritual life of Indigenous peoples of the plains. Recommended for use with Grade 9-12 students.
