The Government of Canada's Response to the Descheneaux Decision

Superior Court of Quebec ruled that several paragraphs and one sub-section relating to Indian registration (status) under section 6 of the Indian Act violated equality provisions under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Found difference of treatment between women and men and their respective descendants.
