The file contains a presentation on by President Rita Arey of the Northwest Territories Status of Women organization, closing remarks and a closing prayer. President Arey presents on her organization's work on behalf of women in the Northwest Territories, and specifically the challenges facing Aboriginal women in the Northwest Territories. Arey discusses issues such as depression; addictions; violence; suicide; incarceration; poverty; unemployment; cultural change; racism; sexual abuse; wage and domestic labour; the need for increased education and training; the importance of Elders' wisdom and skills; and balancing different roles. Following the presentation the assembled Commissioners discuss some of the issues raised with President Arey. Afterwards Commissioner Rene Dussault thanks the participants and delivers closing remarks followed by a closing prayer by Tom Ross which concludes the days' sitting of the Royal Commission.
