Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples: Preliminary remarks by Co-Chair Rene Dussault

File contains preliminary remarks by Co-Chair Rene Dussault before Round Table No. 2 at the sitting of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples at the Hotel Bonaventure, Montreal, Quebec, on May 7, 1993. Dussault welcomes the participants and states that "events that took amongst you, here in Oka, in the summer of 1990 were largely the root cause for creating the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples in Canada." Dussault explains that the purpose of the second round table is to hear the views of property owners of the parish and town of Oka "all of whom had very rough experiences during the events in the summer of 1990."
