Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples: Presentation by Rick Krehbiel, Regional Director, Ministry of the Environment, Fort St. John, British Columbia

File contains a presentation by Rick Krehbiel, Regional Director of the Ministry of Environment in Fort St. John. Krehbiel discusses a variety of issues from his perspective as an official of the British Columbia government, who previously worked for the Saskatchewan government in the north of that province. Krehbiel discusses the information at his departments disposal, self-government concerns, resource and land management concerns, the relation of government and Aboriginal groups to "third party interests," and the need for extensive dialogue between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in British Columbia. Following the presentation the assembled Commissioners question Krehbiel on some of the ideas presented, particularly with regard to hunting and fishing concerns.
