Riel Rebellion of 1885 - Causes

File contains papers relating to the causes of the uprising of 1885 in the Saskatchewan District. Included are an essay entitled "Causes of the Saskatchewan Rebellion of 1885" by Prince Albert Historical Society historian Bill Smiley (1984), a brief paper by a Committee of the PAHS on commemorating the causes and events of 1885 (no date given), some extracts from the book "Batoche" by Father Jules Le Chevallier regarding the uprising of 1885 translated into English from the original French manuscript, and a newspaper article (date unknown, PA Daily Herald likely 1950s or 1960s) with some general notes on the uprising and movement preceding it, as well as a photograph of Dickens Lake in northern Saskatchewan.
