An archaeologist excavating post walls from the Francois-Finlay post (by the present Francois-Finlay Dam) near Nipawin, Saskatchewan in 1964.

Historical note:

The post was built in 1763 the first "pedlar" post on the Saskatchewan River was a combined effort of François Le Blanc, a veteran of the La Vérendrye family's 1740's expeditions, and James Finlay, a Scottish-born businessman. The site is now underwater due to the nearby dam project.
