Reports on findings from two surveys: Phase I was conducted in February 2017 and had 85 participants, mainly living off-reserve; Phase II was conducted from June-August 2017 and had 96 participants. Themes which emerged were regulations around mental health and addictions, training and education, creating safe spaces, and funding. Concludes with recommendations.

Focuses on the unacknowledged or unrecognized bands or tribes, especially in California, and their legal rights of repatriation that are enforceable through the courts.

Investigates the motivations for, and experiences of raising grandchildren. Questions asked about motivation included experiences with: the child welfare system, residential schools, foster care and adoptive placements; and the impact of the Indian Child Welfare Act on kinship care.

Act discusses the lawful possession of lands, proceedings used to eject people not in lawful possession, penalty for persons selling liquors, and much more. The Act has 24 sections in total.

States changes to the various powers of the Superintendent General.

Amendments include the removal of non-Aboriginal people from reserve land and states that non-Aboriginals who lease reserve land may not hunt or fish on that land.

Includes section A49A which gave the courts power to remove Aboriginal people from reserves if they were near a town with more than 8,000 people.

Changes to the Act abandoned the contempt of "Indian blood" and instead used a system of registration. The prohibitions against certain practices, ceremonies, and wearing traditional clothing were removed. A decison was also made that if a matter was not in the Indian Act provincial law would then apply.

Cited as Indian Oil and Gas Act. Section 7 provided for consultation, on a continuing basis, with Indian bands most directly affected by oil and gas activities.

Amendment eliminates the division of the Caughnawaga (Kahnawake) Reserve to create a single section.

Most of the amendments dealt with imprisonment for the selling of liquor to "any Indian man, woman or child in Canada".

Amendments include the fact that any Métis admitted into treaty "shall be allowed to withdraw", the protection of reserve resources and not allowing for the removal of timber, minerals, or soil, and penalities for allowing prostitution.
