Presents updated prostate cancer occurrence data.

Outlines actions taken by team, and the short-, medium- and long-term plans for assessment and implementation of recommendations from the inquest into death of man who died while waiting to receive treatment in a Winnipeg hospital's emergency department.

Reports on data gathered from 27 survey participants and 17 interview participants in November 2011-April 2012. Findings arranged under three themes: region's awareness and knowledge of programs provided in First Nations communities; innovative palliative care practices; and barriers and strengths in delivery programs.

Psychiatry Thesis (M.Sc.)--McGill University, 2017.

Focuses on the practice of hanging Aboriginal prisoners in public and as close to the scene of the crime as possible in order to intimidate and terrorize the local population.

Outlines how death of Jordan River Anderson brought attention to denial or delay of services to First Nations children due to juristictional disputes and inspired passage of the child first and needs-based principle, and discusses federal and provincial governments' continuing failure to implement it properly.

Discussion of the research conducted to compare the morbidity rate of diabetic American Indians and Alaska Natives with the United States population in general.

Assess the extent to which injury rates among American Indians in Oregon are underestimated owing to misclassification of race in a surveillance system.

Results of a study shows that stillbirth rates in Aboriginal populations are higher than in the general population and offers evidence that health problems linked to obesity and smoking may be behind the gap.

Discusses measuring the impact plans have on improving social determinants on health and life expectancy for Australians and Indigenous people.

Book review of: Boarding School Seasons by Brenda J. Child.

Found that 60% of unexpected deaths were accidental (motor vehicle crashes, overdose, downing and fire), 33% were due to suicide, and 5% were the result of homicide. Identified three key areas to prevent deaths and support wellness and well-being: connectedness to peers, family, community and culture; access to services; and culturally safe and trauma-informed care.
