Historical note:
The Wanuskewin Heritage Park is located northeast of the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It opened in June 1992, after three years of planning for a park that would not only preserve centuries of cultural heritage, but also help build a bridge between First Nations and non-First Nations people of the province.Discusses the history of the fur trade in the Northwest Territories and contemporary trapping practices, and gives detailed instructions for making snowshoes, kamiks, spruce canoes, and trap sets and preparing and eating country food.
Using the example of the Santee Community Schools on the Santee Sioux reservation to examine the failure of external interventions in addressing Indigenous educational needs.
