Discusses eight individual quilters (Aboriginal and Hawaiian): Mary Bighouse (Osage), Sheree "Peachy" Bonaparte (Mohawk), Alice Olsen Williams (Anishinabe), Nancy Crone Naranjo (Eastern Cherokee), Bernyce Courtney (Wasco-Tlingit), Harriet Soong (Native Hawaiian), Ollie Napesni (Rosebud Lakota), and Lula Red Cloud (Ogala Lakota).
Edward Shearer worked in the La Ronge area in the late 1950s and later moved to Prince Albert where he was associated with the Indian/Metis Friendship Centre. He was a friend of Malcolm Norris.
Historical background and submissions to Indian Claims Commission (ICC) regarding a 1963 dam built on-reserve and its effect on the First Nation's fishing rights, and obligations owed by Canada. ICC recommended the claim not be accepted for Specific Claims Policy due to compensation already received.
