Canadian Indigenous Children's Books through the Lense of Truth and Reconciliation
Primary source for titles was Amazon Best Sellers in Children’s Native Canadian Story Books, as well as publishers' web pages, and library and authors' lists. Objective was to identify fiction books for ages 0-18 written by Indigenous authors that contained reconciliation-related themes. More than 150 books met the inclusion criteria.

Questions were asked about 13 indicators: good understanding of past and present; acknowledgement of government, residential school and ongoing harm, engagement, mutually respectful and nation-to-nation relationships; personal and systemic equality; Indigenous thriving; Indigenous languages; respect for natural world; and apologies.
