Research consisted of survey and semi-structured interviews using open-ended questions with 22 respondents. Study found: limited job opportunityand longevity of employment, inadequate pay scale for hours worked, uequal work expectations, limited opportunities for advancement, inadequate harm prevention, gender or race harassement/discrimination with absence of grievance mechanisms, poor environmental practices, and limited economic benefits to Indigenous people.
Examines the growing urbanization of the Canadian North that clashes with the traditional Inuit lifestyle and how culturally reflective approaches may help with the transition.
