Two themes emerged: positive cultural influences including family, food sharing, school and traditional food; and barriers such as lack of transportation, location of residence and income.
Looks at the Qeq College Transition program developed by the BC Regional Innovation Chair for Aboriginal Early Childhood Development, Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre and School District 68 (Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools). The program supports young children and their families as they transition from early childhood to kindergarten settings.
Brief explanation of development of content for First Nations and Inuit Health Home and Community Care. Objective was to improve health literacy about age-related dementia through culturally relevant information.
