Reproduction of engraving from the 2 January 1875 issue of Harper's Weekly. The sun dance, performed by Sioux members, is held in June in honour of the sun. The engraving shows male Sioux at centre, surrounded by onlookers in a outdoor scene. The artist's name appears to be Jules Tavernier Frenseny; location unknown.
