Article uses a critical race analysis of oral histories and documents to examine how and why the first historically Native American fraternity and sorority (HNAFS), Alpha Pi Omega, was created, and the role that it played in experience of Indigenous students attending UNC – Chapel Hill in the mid-1990s.
States that because colony was established on Peepeekisis reserve without permission, and students from other bands were brought there to live and farm, members of the original band were displaced and unable to use communal lands.
Examines goals and structure of pilot project to provide affordable rental accommodations in Pleasant Hill area of Saskatoon. Report forms part of the Bridges and Foundations Project on Urban Aboriginal Housing.
Goal was to measure intake of subsistence foods so that contaminant content and potential health effects could be identified. Sample consisted of 665 individuals between the 13 and 88 from 13 villages.
Looks at the issue in the context of gender-based violence as a human rights violation which is rooted in deep, structural discrimination and intersects with socio-economic and cultural rights violations. Outlines essential elements of a human-rights based response and identifies three keys to effectiveness.

Description
Study coordinated by the health centre with some support from academic partners, assessed the types of programming Elders would be interested in, and what they saw to be barriers to participation. Researchers offered participants several options to encourage survey participation including language and location of interview; a well-respected Elder was hired to conduct the interviews.
Study involves five components: household interviews collecting information on dietary patterns, lifestyle and general health status, environmental concerns and food security; sampling traditional foods for contaminants; sampling water for trace metals; hair sampling for mercury; and surface water sampling for pharmaceuticals.
Purpose of project was to examine how Indigenous peoples envision governance within an UNDRIP-defined Nation-to-Nation relationship with Canada, and begin formulating questions about how Nations would interact with other governments in the country.
Brief discussion of existing government programs, various initiatives such as Revolving Loan Funds, First Nations Market Housing Fund, and Habitat for Humanity Canada's Indigenous Housing Partnership, and the experiences of Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory (TMT), Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, and Kahnawake.
Results of interviews conducted with 63 principal householders involved in the program. Report forms part of the Bridges and Foundations Project on Urban Aboriginal Housing.
