Snow states that because the federal government wanted to assimilate Aboriginal peoples, they have lost their languages, traditions and values. Family violence, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, unemployment and poor physical and mental health are problematic on her First Nation, and she calls on the Commission to ensure that her First Nation continues to receive government funding to combat these social problems.
