Introduction and two archival items on social and economic conditions of Aboriginal people. The first report is on the socio-economic conditions that contributed to the spread of tuberculosis, and the economic measures needed to be taken to improve the lives of the Swampy Cree Indians. The second report is an account of the socio-economic conditions of Aboriginal people and recommendations for improving their health status.
Historical note:
The York Pioneer and Historical Society was founded by Richard H. Oates in 1869 in Toronto, ON. The society maintains two museums and a library of historical books and documents.Related Material: 1992 follow-up report assessing progress in implementation of the original Task Force's recommendations.
