Summarizes findings from two phases of project which investigated whether poor indoor air quality could be responsible for the high rates of severe lower respiratory infections in Inuit children. Indoor air quality in 20 Cape Dorset residences and ventilation rates in 100 dwellings from four communities were measured.
Recommends implementing and increasing Inuit participation in government employment in Nunavut at a representative level in all occupational groupings and grade levels.
Discusses how the negative impacts of resource extraction development can be minimized for increased self reliance, self determination and a sustainable future in Inuit regions.
