Incarceration and the Aboriginal Offender: Potential Impacts of the Tackling Violent Crime Act and the Corrections Review Panel Recommendations
Argues that escalating mandatory sentences for serious firearm offences, increasing penalties for impaired driving, and reverse onus for bail when accused of serious offences and having someone declared a dangerous offender will have the effect of increasing incarceration rates.
