Description
Review conducted to identify principles, approaches, methods, tools and frameworks reported from 2000-2015 in Canada, United States, New Zealand and Australia.
Reports results of environmental scan which involved a literature review of both grey and academic publications, a series of key informant interviews with 20 individuals working in the field. Six topic areas are covered: links between childhood adversity and suicide and promising practices for addressing child sexual abuse, social emotional development, safe shelters focusing on children and youth, current supports in the justice system, and parenting and family support programs.
Results of scoping review organized into five themes for quality indicators (Curriculum/programming, reflection of cultures, family engagement, external perspectives, and barriers) and six themes for educator dispositions (practice of relationships, cultural humility, critical pedagogy, honouring families' knowledge, cultural match, and preservice education).

Goal was to find ways to incorporate Traditional Ecological Knowledge into the City of Calgary's Climate Action Strategy and Action Plans in a respectful and supportive manner and engage with Indigenous peoples to create equitable and inclusive environments. Includes three case studies: the Siksika response to disaster evacuations and displacement due to flooding; policy analysis of the ZéN Road Map and the Pan-Canadian Framework; and the Indigenous-led Wasahkotewinowak urban food sovereignty initiative.
Bibliography with a concentration on developing practices which meet the needs of Aboriginal children, parents, and communities. Each source is accompanied by a brief description of concept and content.
