Three Uses of Christian Culture in the Numbered Treaties, 1871-1921

Describes how, during treaty negotiations, Euro-Canadian statesmen used religious terminology, presented the British monarchy in a divine manner, and enlisted well-known and respected Christian missionaries to impress upon the Natives that they understood the sacred dimensions of the treaties.
