Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples: Presentation by Denis Tardif, George Ares and Lynn Lemieux, Association Canadienne Francaise

This file contains a presentation by Denis Tardif, George Ares and Lynn Lemieux that focuses on two issues; the need to dialogue on issues of importance to Canada, and the question of social harmony within the Canadian society or within the Canadian context. Tardif states that non-Aboriginal Canadians must learn from their past mistakes from a historical context, and that Aboriginal peoples, "while asking that their rights and principles be recognized and respected, be flexible enough in their application of those rights and principles to reflect Canada's contemporary reality." A question-and-answer session with the Commissioners follows the presentation.
