Study conducted on Torres Strait Islanders shows a lack of quality studies on management interventions. Recommends that well-funded studies of high methodological quality and culturally sensitive design should be undertaken.

Using family material from the Naskapi and Montagnais Indians of the Labrador peninsula, the authors found evidence for close linkage between the loci that determine the two inherited traits.

Argues that Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) served as a de facto public health agency and by the late 1830s provided an effective vaccination campaign covering most of western Canada.
