Looks at "Concrete Indians" living in urban communities. Duration: 45:10.

Presents information gathered in 2000 while doing a community needs assessment. Sources included learners, literacy workers, tutors and social service agencies.

Examines the different patterns of economic disadvantage and notes the evolution from 1995 to 2005.

Analyzes whether certain cities contribute to the problem of over-representation and explores whether regional variations exist.

Findings based on literature review, survey (250 respondents), and three case studies. Produced as part of the National Reading Campaign's Aboriginal Policy Initiative.

Report designed to inform Ontario's Best Start Child and Family Centre model for delivering child and family services. Includes results of literature review, case study conducted at Regent Park and Scarborough sites which involved stakeholder interviews with 95 respondents and focus groups, and discussion of how the general model can be adapted to meet Indigenous early childhood and family services needs.

In-depth interviews were conducted with 36 individuals who had moved to Toronto from rural or reserve settings. Participants identified issues such as difficulties accessing services/benefits they were entitled to and lack of respect for culture and identity.

Argues that to adequately address determinants faced by youth, a framework is needed that is culturally appropriate and addresses colonization.

Project consisted of literature review, survey, discussion groups and key informant interviews, community report-back and report writing.

Project used a community-partnered approach to find out how to increase access to social services, with a focus on inclusion for Indigenous peoples in Toronto.

Study employs a method of qualitative inquiry to interview six Aboriginal Latinx non-binary youth, and a narrative story map tool to analyze the data collected. Findings indicate a need for a culturally relevant and social justice–based training model for mental health care providers.
