Public Health Sciences Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Alberta, 2009.

Describes how the clinic has tailored services to meet the needs of its clientele, who have very low status and are experiencing an epidemic of communicable diseases.

Study identified sociocultural factors that contribute to rapid advancement of the disease; discusses the need for traditional healing practices to be included in treatment regimens.

File contains a presentation by T'mas Young of the Micmac AIDS Task Force. Young makes a wide array of recommendations to the Commission related to Aboriginal AIDS awareness and treatment. Following the presentation Commissioners Erasmus, Robinson, and Morris, thank Young and discuss some of the issues raised with him.
