First systematic review of somatic health among Indigenous Sami; results indicate that the incidence of many diseases are similar to those for non-Sami peoples, and that there is a need for longitudinal studies.

Report uses an inductive/deductive analytical approach to analyze focus group transcripts from five tribal communities; constructs a Continuum of American Indian Stressor Model from categorization of nineteen stressor categories within four domains. Also identified poverty, genocide, and colonization as fundamental causes of contemporary stress and health outcomes and notes that stressors are generally experienced as chronic.

Qualitative study with mixed methods design; uses in-depth surveys of forty self-identified American Indians living with chronic pain. Paper explores the experience of the participants and the factors of resiliency from which they draw strength.

Study aims to determine if First Nations people with diabetes have experienced the same decrease in cardiac disease as other people in Ontario. Findings indicate that the incidence of cardiac events has declined among First Nations people with diabetes, but remains higher than other people with diabetes in Ontario.

Looks at the use of virtual care by Indigenous populations in regards to the technology used, health conditions, and the nature of the care.

Article examines the rates of infection in Canada, noting that most (> 90%) cases of TB are among Indigenous peoples and foreign-born migrants, both groups being poorly positioned to advocate for themselves. Authors recommend a system of monitoring and performance framework to increase the rate elimination.
