Traces the history of a one-hundred-year-old caribou skin men's dancing garment (kapitaq) from the moment the caribou was killed, through construction of the garment by an Inuinnait woman, its acquisition by the museum, loan to Juliette Gaultier de la Verendrye for use in her stage performances, and finally back to the museum's cold storage. History research essay towards a Master of Arts.

Historical note:

One Arrow Cree First Nation signed Treaty 6 on September 6, 1878; while the One Arrow Reserve is located 53 km southwest of Prince Albert, the band has a total of 9,331.4 ha surrounding the South Saskatchewan River. This band settled on its reserve late in the autumn of 1880, in what was considered a fine location to begin agricultural development. As the chief was old, a headman by the name of Crowskin was in charge of the band in 1882, and contributed much to its development.

Front and reverse images of the Northwest Canada service medal and Saskatchewan clasp awarded to Lieutenant Robinson Lyndhurst Wadmore of the Royal Canadian Regiment, for service during the Northwest Resistance.

Historical note:

Robinson Lyndhurst Wadmore, who was born in England in 1855, entered the Canadian forces as a lieutenant in 1883 and served with the Royal Canadian Regiment during the Northwest Resistance of 1885. Wadmore became a colonel in 1910. He died in Victoria, BC, in 1915.
