Primary source for titles was Amazon Best Sellers in Children’s Native Canadian Story Books, as well as publishers' web pages, and library and authors' lists. Objective was to identify fiction books for ages 0-18 written by Indigenous authors that contained reconciliation-related themes. More than 150 books met the inclusion criteria.
Historical note:
The Rocky Mountain Rangers, under Captain Stewart, and the Moose Mountain Scouts, under Captain White, were also put in commission for service during the 1885 Resistance.Three stories about bullying prevention, justice and belonging told in English, Cree, Inuktitut, Michif, Mohawk, Oji-Cree, Ojibwe, and Oneida.
