Historical note:
On 2 May 1885 Lieutenant Colonel William Otter was defeated by Poundmaker's war chief Fine-Day at the Battle of Cut Knife near Battleford, SK. A flying column of Canadian militia and army regulars was defeated by Poundmaker despite their use of a Gatling gun.Reports results of 183 interviews and focus groups held between 2015 and 2015 in eight communities with a variety of health delivery systems, geographies, accessibilities and language groups. Four themes emerged: control of healthcare, traditional medicine and healing practices, community participation, and dealing with the impacts of colonization.
Analysis of federal and provincial/territorial government health spending between 2011-2012 and 2018-2019 for First Nations and Inuit as well as for the general Canadian population.
