Final report examines historical background and submission to Indian Claims Commission (ICC) regarding whether the Crown breached its fiduciary obligation by allocating reserve land (IR 81) to people outside of the Band. ICC found Canada breached its obligations and recommended the claim be a negotiated under Canada's Specific Claims Policy. Commissioners include: Alan C. Holman, Renee Dupuis, and Sheila G. Purdy. Summary of study involving eight First Nations communities selected on the basis of innovative approaches to promoting home ownership and developing support programs. A minimum of six interviews was conducted at each site with community leaders, housing professionals and home owners.
Bill was supposed to remedy the sexually discriminatory section 12(1)(b) of the Indian Act; deals with who is entitled to Status. Document covers issues such as reinstatement backlog and priorities, registration documentation, identification of father/illegitimate children, and funding issues (health, education, housing, child welfare) resulting from increase in status population.
Discusses the vision, mission and value of the Prince Albert Grand Council, and includes information on the 12 surrounding bands, and various departments.
