Discusses the palliative care program developed by the community through the Improving End-of-Life Care in First Nations research project. Evaluation looks at implementation (resources, essential activities, participants, and services), accountability/success indicators, and value of the program. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected via Weekly Client Tracking Forms, questionnaires, focus group/interviews, and program documents.
Data sources: First Nations and Inuit Health program reports, Non-Insured Health Benefits Pharmacy Claims, First Nations Regional Health Survey, First Nations Regional Early Childhood, Education and Employment Survey, Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), and Statistics Canada. Provides information on services and benefits that are covered or can be accessed through Canada's Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) when the goods and services are not covered by provincial health or third party health plans.
