Discusses the impact of residential schools and the forced removal of children for the purposes of foster care or adoption. Argues that current practices and training must take into account the damage inflicted by the drive for assimilation and incorporate the Aboriginal worldview when dealing with clients.
Project consisted of analysis of print media coverage and interviews. Five topics came to the forefront: leadership, mothering, families and transitioning out of sex work, ethical and effective service, and the media.
Report on mental health and addictions services provides background information, lists, mental health and addiction research, and explanation of recommendations.
