The history of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, is detailed from pre-contact to the arrival of Jean Etienne Waden, first European in the La Ronge area, to present-day businesses, schools and churches in the town; numerous photographs.
Includes Saskatoon City Council minutes from a meeting on Monday, October 26, 1981 regarding certain archaeological and anthropological pre-European contact artifacts from the Saskatoon area that were given to depositories in Winnipeg, and some that reside at the University of Saskatchewan. Reference is made to an associated document further discussing these matters.
The 13:34-minute video was filmed at Valley View School in Beauval and features special guest Winston Wuttunee and the students singing songs in English and Cree by the teachers and students of the school for the Celebrate Saskatchewan festivities in 1981. Filming and production was by the DNS Extension Services Branch.
