Looks at the parallels between two plays in terms of the subject matter and the dramatic techniques used. For example, bingo, is used as a symbol and illustration of women's consumerism and of the spiritual emptiness in their lives.
Discusses a play, The Book of Jessica, that illustrates the struggle women have in understanding what being "a woman" means, including across the barriers of race, culture, privilege and age.
Historical note:
The Rocky Mountain Rangers, under Captain Stewart, and the Moose Mountain Scouts, under Captain White, were also put in commission for service during the 1885 Resistance.Looks at the history of two examples of regalia that traveled to France; one with a performer in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show in 1889 and the other worn by a performer at the Jardin d'Acclimation (a human zoo) in Paris in 1911.
