On 2 May 1885 Lieutenant Colonel William Otter was defeated by Poundmaker's war chief Fine-Day at the Battle of Cut Knife near Battleford, SK. A flying column of Canadian militia and army regulars was defeated by Poundmaker despite their use of a Gatling gun.Article presents three different news reports: A television series for the Aboriginal People's Television Network (APTN), Native American veterans who were illegally taxed, and the latest proroguing of the federal government causing concerns for registration as status Indians.
